Email Relay / Communications Notice
Last updated August 19, 2026
How messaging works
Students and counselors communicate through Admito's email relay. Neither side sees the other's real email address: messages are sent from a per-thread relay address and forwarded to the recipient. This protects everyone's contact information and keeps a record of platform communication.
What we log
For each relayed message we record the metadata and content needed to deliver it and to keep the platform safe: sender and recipient (internally, never exposed to the other party), timestamps, the association it belongs to, delivery status, and the message body. Relayed messages are treated as counselor-held Student Data where applicable and are subject to retention and deletion under the Data Retention Schedule.
Retention & deletion
Relay threads tied to an advising association are deleted after the end-of-association grace window per the retention schedule. You can also stop communication at any time by ending the association.
Opt-out & control
- You can end an association (and thus the relay thread) at any time.
- Transactional relay delivery is part of using the advising feature; separate marketing or notification emails follow your notification settings and the opt-out in each message.
- Relay abuse (spam, harassment, or off-platform solicitation) violates the Professional Terms and Acceptable Use Policy and may end your access.
Commercial-email rules
Relayed and notification emails will identify Admito, describe their purpose, and — where they are commercial in nature — include a working unsubscribe link and a valid postal address. Transactional advising messages are not marketing. SMS is a separate, opt-in program covered by our SMS Messaging Policy.
No circumvention
Attempting to move communication off-platform to evade the relay (for example, sharing personal contact information to bypass logging or supervision) is prohibited, especially for associations involving minors.
